JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) is dedicated to creating a world without type 1 diabetes: from type one to type none. They are the leading international organization that funds research globally to cure, prevent, and enhance the treatment of type 1 diabetes. Additionally, JDRF provides education.
For this project we needed to design a campaign to help newly diagnosed teen and give them handles on how to cope with type 1 diabetes.
JDRF NEDERLAND
campaign & Content
JDRF Nederland asked us to help them out with a problem. They’ve noticed that more juveniles don’t know how to deal with diabetes type 1 and are not good informed. JDRF wanted us to solve this problem in their upcoming campaign.
We started by breaking down the problem and doing the research so we could come up with a unique campaign and content for the JDRF channels.
-
We started this project by doing research about JDRF and had a briefing with them about what they wanted to tell.
After doing some research we found out that the audience they wanted to reach was quite new and missed knowledge and structure in their routine.
By finding some usefull insights we started brainstorming and creating prototypes.
Insights we found were;
Teens newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes don’t know what to expect of it.
Teens are lacking in knowledge and need guiance to inform them.
They would like a rolemodel so they can relate to someone who knows the struggle of diabetes.
-
We came up with a campaign called “A Day in the Life...” where we showcase teens with type 1 diabetes and give information and structure to newly diagnosed people and people who don’t know a lot about diabetes.
The designs are made for social media, this is where big part of the audience finds their information and we wanted to incorporate role models for them. We tried showing this with livestreams, reels and video’s where both famous and non famous show and tell their story.
-
In the Youtube series we wanted to showcase different people with type 1 diabetes. This is hosted by an influencer who also has type 1 so that they can relate to him/her.
The audience uses youtube and Instagram on a weekly basis.
The audience recieves knowledge on a routine.
